Haircut Inspiration

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Hi readers!

I got my hair cut yesterday and was very tempted to cut it short but I got a trim instead. I have a obsessive compulsive nature to get a haircut that I had in London back in 2005 when I studied abroad there. No one has been able to get it quite right and I have ended up with an ugly mullet a few times. When someone cuts my hair wrong too I turn into that girl that shows all her emotions on her face and vow silently to never return to said salon.

Browsing the Internet for hair inspiration I got annoyed at the amount of celebrity haircuts in Google's search engine. I mean there has to be other people in the world besides celebrities that have good hair. I found a random hair model picture that I loved and I did end up loving one celebrity's hair Lily Allen. Look how pretty her hair is, her makeup, her skin is glowing, and I just love her. I will take picture tomorrow of my haircut when I don't have it pulled up in a high-pony and show you how bouncy it turned out. I realized scanning back through my old photographs that I've really kept short hair for a while. Here's to growing it super long still and taking new photographs to prove I did it!

Arizona Trading Company: Lawrence, KS

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

GOOD MORNING!

This morning is that morning where I desperately want ok NEED a Redeye coffee. Who wants to bring me one? :) I went with my friend Chelsea to Lawrence Sunday for a cheap girl date and to go eat/thrift store shopping. She had only been there one time before so we had fun just doing a girl Super Bowl date, rather than wearing sweat pants around the house eating pork grinds.

We stopped by Free State Brewery for a few brewskys and some beer battered onion rings. Can you believe we ate a full order of those things? I tried two beers that were new to me on tap: Lupulus Maximus and Fireside Imperial Pils. Chelsea had their Oatmeal Stout and another one that I don't remember the name. Here is evidence of the beers we tried and the HUGE onion rings. We also ate dinner at The Burger Stand which my friends Simon Bates and Codi Bates own and they have crazy delicious food. (See the burger picture below)

Before eating the burger the size of our head's we stopped by Arizona Trading Company to search for some cool thrift clothing. They had a Winter Coat Sale Rack in the front and I found this badass leather jacket. It's streamlined and really simple so I had to snatch it up. The best part is is was only $18.75 and was in perfect condition so I snatched that up ASAP. I bought this other amazing BCBG dress for only $5.00 and I dug for it in those trash bins you see below. I am not above digging for a deal by any means; I will post pictures of the dress at the event I attend tomorrow!

Green Lady Lounge

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Whoa,

Too much happened this weekend so I'm not sure what to post about. I visited my Mecca called Green Lady Lounge in Kansas City. My maiden name is Pavlish so I want to claim I'm more Russian than perhaps I am Swedish or Norwegian. Green lady lounge had every type of red velvet imaginable, with the right amount of old jazz musicians, and drunk locals that every bar wishes they had for eternity.

My friend was turning 21....cough...29...and we stopped at La Bodega for dinner/drinks and to show off her vintage sequin butterfly top. The whole restaurant had to listen to us sing Happy Birthday but really it provided them with a story to tell their friends after their Saturday day dinner finished. Btw-My friend Sheppa is on the moped and my Robbie is next to him.

I wore green tights from Target, a black ballerina dress from Urban Outfitters, white shiny jacket from Kensie, and black sparkle dancing shoes from Shoe Carnival. I'm heading to bed now but another post tomorrow from Lawrence.

TGIF-Fashion

Friday, February 1, 2013

Good morning,

In future blog posts friends I feel like writing a lot of about TGIF. I love my job but I love my weekends more. For those that don't remember "From 1989-2000, Friday nights on ABC were home to the block of family-friendly sitcoms known as TGIF, which in addition to the traditional “thank God it’s Friday” stood for “thank goodness it’s funny," (Bell, 2011). Let me list those famous shows that kept us going through the bad fashions of the 1990's.

1. 'Full House' (1987-1995)

2. 'Family Matters' (1989-1998)

3. 'Perfect Strangers' (1986-1993)

4. 'Step by Step' (1991-1998)

5. 'Boy Meets World' (1993-2000)

6. 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch' (1996-2003)

7. 'Dinosaurs' (1991-1994)

I watched ALL of these shoes and I remember certain things from each of them. Full House I realized how much I could crush on a guy, I mean that Uncle Jesse doesn't age! Family Matters made me realize how much I valued my neighbors because they weren't anything like Steve Urkel; I realized I wanted to be friends with Steve because he could build a time machine. Perfect Strangers made me realize that I could never be Potluck for college with a roommate and that I really loved all cultures. Step by Step made me realize I wanted to buy Suzanne Somers Thigh Master because I wanted to be a hot mom someday. Boy Meets World made me realize that I had a thing for bad boys but the nice ones will be the ones you really want. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch made me want a talking cat and to have two crazy aunts. Finally, Dinosaurs made me not want to fall asleep at night after watching it because that baby on the show was a creeper.

In conclusion here are some fashions for you if you want to channel your inner diva of the 1990's. I mean it wasn't all bad! We did get some really great plaid shirts out of it and a really awesome smiley face.
