NYX Cosmetics-Small Beauty Haul

Monday, January 12, 2015

Readers!

I'm going to do a beauty tutorial about NYX cosmetics soon. I bought a lipstick and a eye pencil sharpener from CVS yesterday and gave the matte lipstick color "Alabama" a try today. I used Philosophy lip shine "My Heart to Yours" over the top. I bought NYX matte lipstick "Indie Flick" and butter gloss "Peaches and Cream" and will post about those later. Enjoy!

Beautégram: Gold Cupid’s Bows at Aganovitch

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Good morning,

Sometimes I see something and think "Why the heck didn't I think of that?" I was reading my usual online website The Cut when I saw the following post by Christina Han and loved the makeup idea from it. (top photo is from her article) Such a simple way to define your lips and give such a powerful statement of "I am woman hear me roar." Seeing this cute way to define your lips lead me to research some other powerful pictures of all things gold. Do you have a feeling that you need to start wearing gold besides in the typical sense of jewelry? Diamonds may be a girl's best friend but gold comes a close second.

Tips to make lipstick last longer:
  1. Exfoliate
  2. Lip Balm
  3. Lipliner
  4. Lipstick
  5. Concealer to clean up the edges.

The Addys-Kansas City 2013

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Happy Sunday,

Last night was great and full of so many talented people at The Addys Award Show. Our wedding invite even won an award from the talented ladies Megan Collins and Andrea Morris at DMH (Diamond Merkens Hogan). It was so nice to take time getting ready Saturday for the award show and knowing that it would be spent with the best creatives in Kansas City all under one roof. My work 19 Below was a sponsor for the event too.

I wanted to do my hair to match my black velvet vintage dress for the night so I google Hollywood Waves and found a great tutorial. For my makeup I made sure to use face primer called Hard Candy, a foundation brush for my Rimmel foundation, Revlon lipstick and lip liner, and Essie Pink nail polish.

I need to find more pictures of me in my dress from last night! After a few too many glasses of wine it got a lot harder to remember to take photos. The event took place at The Midland Theatre and it truly is inspiring everytime I visit. The after party at Liquid 9 was a lot of fun too with balloon chandeliers. I will write more soon and possibly post more pictures that I find. Thanks for an amazing night KC!
